After obtaining a Ph.D. in theology at Bob Jones University in 1983, Dr. Gary Reimers and his wife, Jan, moved to Dover, New Hampshire to plant Heritage Baptist Church. Fifteen years later, the church had built a beautiful new facility and had reached over 200 in attendance. The Lord then burdened Dr. Reimers with the need to help prepare young men for the ministry. He returned to BJU with his wife and three children in the fall of 1998 to teach in the university’s seminary. In January 2002 he directed the planting of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville and became the founding pastor. He has written several articles for Christian magazines and has traveled to many foreign countries to teach and preach as well as lead study tours to the Holy Land (Israel and Jordan) and the Journeys of Paul (Turkey, Greece and Rome).
Pastor Reimers has written a book on worship entitled, The Glory Due His Name. The book presents a biblical view of what God expects in worship. Pastor draws parallels between wrong forms of ancient worship and dangerous trends in modern services. He also shows how worship services can continue to give God the kind of worship He demands. This study of the doctrine of public worship is essential for all who desire to worship their God in spirit and in truth.
