– College and Young Adults –
The mission of the Upward Group is to make disciples by growing together in the knowledge and love of God, integrating into the life and ministry of Cornerstone, and advancing in active church membership.
Life in the college years should not include a vacation from church involvement.
As a college student, this may be the first time you have chosen which church you will be involved in, a key decision which will impact your growth and discipleship during these years. You are an important part of the body of Christ, and Cornerstone is a place where you will not only hear practical Biblical preaching but also have an opportunity to be integrated into our church family through fellowship and service opportunities.
Every Sunday morning throughout the school year, we set aside the craziness of college life and gather to encourage each other and build community through Biblical teaching, interactive discussion, and challenging life application to experience Christ. We strive to be intentional about growing an authentic faith through understanding God’s Word and being motivated to serve and love the way Christ did. We encourage our students to develop relationships with our church family through prayer meeting and fellowship opportunities, as well as consider becoming an associate member and serving in the church through choir, orchestra, nursery, church work days, and other avenues.
If you have any questions, please contact our college director, Dave Stockard (email@example.com).

Sunday School – 11 a.m.
This is our primary Bible study opportunity, designed to give you opportunities in a small group setting to discuss and apply God’s Word to what you are facing in this season of your life. The teaching style varies between discussion groups that consist of about 8-9 students and are facilitated by a member of our leadership team and larger group teaching and discussions. We follow a similar pattern to the Adult Bible Fellowship classes and frequently study the same passages. Join us for a time of refreshments, fellowship, and learning!
Midweek Meetings – 1st Wednesday of the month
This informal meeting the first Wednesday of each month centers on a time for fellowship, prayer, singing, and refreshments. We have also used this meeting time for panel discussions or Q&A sessions with Pastor Reimers. On other Wednesday evenings throughout the month we participate in Prayer Meeting with the rest of the church family.
There’s nothing quite like a home cooked meal and time in a house when you’re a college student! Because college is typically a season when you are away from your home and family and primarily focused on friendships with people your age, we encourage our college students to build relationships with other believers of all ages in our church. Our Adopt-a-Student program pairs students with church members and families to give opportunities for students to develop meaningful relationships with people from our church.
If you are a college student who likes to sing and is looking for a way to serve, consider joining us for choir! We appreciate each of our college students who has invested their musical gifts to glorify God and edify our church body by being a part of the choir. Choir rehearses at 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoons before the evening service.
College students are also welcome and invited to join our church orchestra to support the choir and congregation in worship. Rehearsals are at 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoons before the evening service.
Join us for pizza and an informal time of fellowship to connect with friends and our leadership team. We meet for pizza twice a semester after Building Believers in the Fellowship Hall.
